Celebrating Our First Anniversary with a Major Milestone
Written by Alex Seleznev, MBA, CFP®, CFA | Aug 7, 2024

As Capital Squared Financial (CSF) celebrates its first anniversary, I am excited to share one of the important milestones in our firm's growth. As of August 2024, our firm is entrusted to manage over $105,200,000 for our clients.
As I write this letter on a warm Saturday morning and look back at the past 12 months, I must admit this level of growth is not what I anticipated when CSF was launched on August 4, 2023.
It took almost nine months to properly prepare for the launch and ensure all pieces of the puzzle were working together harmoniously. It took a lot of hard work by our team members to make it happen. Not everything was as smooth as originally anticipated, especially in the first few months post-launch.
Let’s get one thing straight. Our success at CSF wouldn’t be possible without the trust of many of our long-term clients who transitioned from my old firm.
I’ve been working with many of you for over a decade, and I greatly appreciate your unwavering support of our new firm (albeit fully operational with advanced technology and support from day one).
Please know that I will always be there for you when you need us. I look forward to continuing our professional relationship with you and your families for decades to come!
To our new clients and those who transitioned from RockDen Advisors, welcome again! We look forward to helping you achieve your financial goals. Please know you are part of a firm dedicated solely to your needs, free from any corporate profit-chasing agenda.
I am also pleased to share that the majority of our new clients came from introductions from our existing clients. This truly means a lot to me and confirms our approach is the right one. There is no better justification for the quality of your service than referrals from your existing clients.
Our strong network of allied professionals continues to grow. Even though we aim to address most financial questions in-house, there are many times when you need outside expertise, such as a realtor, CPA, estate planning attorney, mortgage broker, or long-term care insurance professional. I am thankful for your support of our clients.
I am deeply grateful to my business partner, Asi De Silva, CFA, for his calm and thoughtful guidance on many firm-wide and investment projects. The depth of his perspective and decades of experience in the investment field have been remarkably helpful as we guide our clients in ever-changing market conditions.
Last but certainly not least, special thanks to our Operations Specialist, Trish Lewellyn, for her dedication to many internal tasks. Your work is not always visible, but it does make a difference, and I truly appreciate it.
Stay tuned as we plan to add more team members to CSF later this year.
As I ruminate on my personal journey over the past 12 months, I can’t help but think about how dramatically it changed my perspective on the delivery of financial planning services and our industry as a whole. I’ve never grown professionally so much and so quickly. It humbled me many times but gave me an even greater appreciation for what we do for our clients at CSF.
And I wouldn’t want this to be any different!
